Living in the UK after BREXIT – do you need to pass the citizenship test?
Some people in the UK will need to obtain a residence card, when UK leaves the European Union
IYE International has created a two day workshops with teacher and historian Kevin Newman to help you pass the test and understand English culture. This workshop is for English level 3 and above, for people who would like to learn in a group. During the workshop you will have time to ask questions.
Dates for ‘Living in the UK’ two day crash courses from 9am to 5pm
The first session combines a day of getting to grips with the test and its possible content. We will study the material specified you need to learn, and access techniques you can use to ensure the content is memorized. We will discuss methods that aim to make passing the test easy; showing you shortcuts, common styles of questions and providing hints and tips
The day will be dispersed with frequent testing and analysing of results so you can see, where your gaps in your knowledge are. The content covered will include topics 1-3, so the first day will be very history-heavy, much as the test is. Finally, we will walk to a pub nearby to spend a couple of hours doing a pub quiz with a difference – it will include questions from the test and Life In The UK-themed prizes are up to be won!
Day 2 starts with an in-depth review of individual performance on day 1 and planning as to maximise improvement on the second day. Testing and analysis will become more frequent and we cover topics 4-5 before revision. These topics are on the UK as a modern, thriving society and the UK Government, law and the role of the citizen in all of this, but despite these titles, remain highly focused on history. As with day 1, we end the day by going to a nearby pub to test our knowledge – and delegates/students will receive a certificate of attendance awarded to them at the end of the quiz. We will include in the day a discussion of our package of post-course support and care such as how we can assist course members in finding the nearest testing centre for them. We will even be happy to accompany you to the test centre and can arrange a celebration ceremony for successful candidates.
The workshops take place in central Brighton and is aimed at anyone with level 3 in English or above. The price is £320 per person, inclusive learning material, water, tea and coffee. Corporate prices for groups of 10 – 50 people with in-house training or the courses can take place at dates and times to suit you at the Basepoint Centres in Crawley, Shoreham, Newhaven or Haywards Heath.

You will be able to sign up for private English tuition if you feel you need to learn more English vocabulary, enhance listening skills and improve communications skills.
